Hi All,
I am one of the silent listener in this forum. My parents finished their interview on Feb 14th 2005. Here is how it went....
Actually they had their interview time from 9.30 to 9.45 AM. We opted for the translator while we took the appointment. Because of that they waited for long time until 2.00 PM and finally they are able to get in line. It seems both translator and officer seems very nice.
They asked so many questions (around 20 mts). My father answered for all the questions. They asked my passport as their only one document they need from my side. They asked the dates that I entered here in US. After every answer, it seems they cross checked the dates in the passport. After everything is done, it seems translator told that officer sactioned your visa. Go and pay the fees. We are waiting for the passport to see how long the visa is.
Some tips that you all can pass it to your parents.
1. Ask them to greet whenever they happen to meet anyone there inside the embassy.
2. When they are standing in the lines, ask them not to cross the yellow line unless they called them ( by waving the hand or calling the numbers)
3. Ask them not to rush in the line anywhere inside the consulate.
4. Those who are applying for their parents, prepare all the possible questions and send them in 2 month advance. Ask them to read whenever they get time. (Last moment preparation will make them tensed) You need to call them every week end and check how they are doing with their questions.
These type of simple tips helps them alot to get a positive reply from consulate.
You all have a good luck
