Visitor's Visa for my dad

I’ve worked on my H1B Visa for 4 years so far. Now I’ve gotten my H1B Visa renewed for another 3 yrs. I'm heading to India next month for the first time after getting my Visa renewed for 3 more years so I’ve set up an appointment at Chennai consulate to get my Visa stamped.

Meanwhile my dad is planning a visit to United states next year so I was thinking of setting up a tourist Visa (B2) appointment for him at the same time as my visa interview. Is that OK or should I have to book an appointment for him a week or two later than mine? I’m just kind of concerned that Visa might be rejected if we both attend it at the same time for some unknown reason. Your help will be appreciated.

Thanks for your response. But should my dad need a copy of my Visa stamping to attend his Visa interview. In that case we both can't attend the Visa interview at the same time right.
