Relationship of sponsor with tourist visa applicant

Myself and my wife are retired senior citizens and we have no children. We are planning to visit America, for the first time, for pleasure and tourism. My nephew ,who is working in America on H1 Visa will be our sponsor for our tourist visa Application etc. incidentally, I was the GOD FATHER of my nephew for his baptism in the church, when he was a child. So our sponsor is both my NEPHEW and my GOD SON . under the above circumstances, I need your valuable advise for the following :-

(1) since we have no children, whether mentioning THE SPONSOR`S relationship with ME, as my " NEPHEW and GOD SON '', in his Affidavit of support and during our consulate interview, will be ADVANTAGES or DISADVANTAGES , for getting our tourist Visa, considering the general practices,precedents and attitudes of consulate interview officers, in general.with respect to the relationship of the sponsor,with the tourist Visa applicant,as Own son, Nephew, God son & Nephew etc. ? OR

(2) whether it is better to state His relationship with me as NEPHEW only ?

why GOD SON is disadvantages

From your reply, it appears that, writing or telling the relationship with sponsor as " GOD SON " also , in addition to NEPHEW, is disadvantages
due to some reason or reasons. can you pl. ELABORATE the reason, if adding
" GOD SON ", is disadvantages to the chances of getting Tourist Visa ?

one of my friends in America, told me that AMERICANS have great regards,
value, and appreciation ,to the relationship of GOD FATHER & GOD SON. So I am very curious to know, how & why it is disadvantages for Visa ? kindly help me.

GOD SON is not really a legal relationship. Anyone can make anyone GOD SON. And anyway, that GOD SON thing is applicable only until the child is under 18. After that, it is meaningless.

And even when the child(your nephew) is under 18, GOD SON comes into picture only if his parents die.

In other words, this GOD SON has no legal value or importance as far as visa is concerned.

Even if I mistyped some information (I am NOT Christian), you get the idea.

Here in INDIA or in AMERICA, or among christians elsewhere, the relationship of GOD FATHER, do not mean LEGAL GUARDIAN of any child or person, whose parents are alive or not.it simply means, MOST FAVOURED RELATIVE, of a child or a person, who has got only moral RELEGIOUS responsibilities to his GOD SON,because of his role as the GOD FATHER, during the BAPTISUM of the child . Nothing Legal, but only a very special moral & relegious bond, between them. In that way , will it be useful to state that the sponsor is my GOD SON ... ?

Definition of GOD SON was given to me by my colleague who is Christian.

MOST FAVORED RELATIVE has no legal meaning and no legal value.

In my view, it is not going to matter.

After that, it is your choice.
