  • Family based green card (IR5), Documentary Qualified, waiting for interview

    Hi,
I'm new to Immihelp. Thank you all in advance for helping.

I have applied for a Family Based Green Card for my father (IR5) with PRIORITY DATE: 28-MAR-2019. I have received Notice regarding my Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified on September 27, 2021. Current status is showing that currently at NVC Mumbai. I am waiting for the interview letter to be sent since Sep 2021. I did not get any mail from NVC yet. Am I missing anything? Please help.

DS-130 Filed and approved with priority date PRIORITY DATE: 28-MAR-2019
Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260) Submitted Feb 15, 2021.
Notice regarding your Immigrant Visa Case becoming Documentarily Qualified - Sep, 2021

I received the below email from nvc in SSeptember 2021.

    Dear Applicant,

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in MUMBAI (BOMBAY), IND to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).

Please do NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until you have received an immigrant visa from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General.

The U.S. Embassy/Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview. Please visit https://nvc.state.gov/prep for information about immigrant visa interviews.

Try contacting NVC once to check that you didn't miss their email for interview letter. DQ date of Sep 2021 is quite long wait.

If verified that interview is not scheduled, you have no choice except waiting for Mumbai consulate to schedule your parent's immigrant visa interview. Work with your attorney to check eligibility for expediting interview.

Congratulations, follow the steps listed here to schedule biometrics separately - should be done before interview date.

You may also need to get medical & PCC done.
