Immigraition queries at the Port of Entry - communiction issue ?

Hi
My Mom is traveling to Chicago, USA from chennai in B1 visa. She is coming alone in couple of weeks.
She never knows english. I am worried how can she handle the questions at the Immigration Clearance in Chicago, IL Airport ?

Will the officer there arrange for some help? should she look for someone in the flight to speak to the officer?

Please suggest?

She can find someone on the flight to help with communication. I would also ask you to write a letter to the IO describing her trip, when she plans to go back etc and mention that she cannot speak english and hence you are giving that letter. That should take care of it.

If it is AI that she is travelling on, she will have plenty of familiar faces that speak the native language.
