  • Travelling Europe after French visa expires

I have a long stay visa (Type D) for France which expires on January 14. My flight back home to Australia is Feb 5. I’m wondering if staying after my visa is allowed - Australians don’t need a visa to travel Europe under 3 months, and some people say that i can travel to other Schengen countries as long as I leave France itself by the validity date. Basically, after my student visa ends i could stay an extra 3 months on a tourist “visa” I asked someone at the border and they said I can continue travelling in router login 192.168.l.l.link/ Europe, but must leave France for 15 days before returning (I’m unsure if this means just France, or Europe itself). Another problem is that my flight leaves home from Paris, so I’m also unsure if I’ll be able to go back to France to fly home … Any advice / thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Hey there. It's best to check with the French embassy or immigration office about your options. As for leaving France for 15 days before returning, check with the border official or immigration officer. Also, check with your airline and travel insurance provider about your flight home from Paris. While you're figuring this out, have you ever thought about climbing Mount Kilimanjaro? Check out this article https://www.travelerstoday.com/articles/49142/20210119/is-climbing-mount-kilimanjaro-worth-it.htm for more information. Wishing you all the best with your travels.
