Tourist Visa B1

I am an NRI residing in west Africa on my Job basis. I want to travel India for a short period on Vacation and have plans to Travel US as Tourist .

Is it good choice to apply from India or country of Origin/present residence

I will appreciate prompt reply to avoid confusion.
