Hi,

My parents took DDs already for USD100 and USD50 each at a rate of Rs.46 for 1 USD. I just noticed the reduction in dollar rate notification effective Feb 14, 2005. They have an appt on Feb 24th. Can they use the existing DDs OR do they need to take new DDs at the Rs44/1USD rate? Thanks for your reply.

They must take the new DD

It happened to my mom & Dad. My dad carried the DD with exchange rate 46.00. In consulate they asked my dad to go and change the DD to 44.00.

So ask them to change the DD before they goto Consulate.
