Trick to get Visitor-Visa

My mother in law is going for visitor visa interview next week. As my father in law is working abroad(Japan) he is not going along with her. If they question about my father-in-law, Is it OK to answer that he is working abroad??

Please advice me. Your help is truely appreciated.
