DS-160 Query

Dear All:

I have a query on DS-160 about Present Work/ Education/ Training Information.

Under the section ‘Primary Occupation’ we have several options to select any one. I am confused in categorizing HOMEMAKER, NOT EMPLOYED and OTHER. If you could let me know the classification of each would help me a lot.

HOMEMAKER…….: ?
NOT EMPLOYED.: ?
OTHER……………..: ?

Your advice on this would be appreciated.

DS-160 Query.

Dear All:

My Father do part time job in photo studio and earn Rs. 4,500 per month in cash and mother is housewife. Both my Mother and Father attended visa interview yesterday and got rejected under 214(b). VO didn’t see any document just asked two questions to my Father, what do you do? And how many children do you have and rejected their visa. I guess information entered on DS-160 under ‘Present Work/ Education/ Training’ might turn VO thinking earning of Rs. 4,500 per month is not strong tie up. And that could be the reason he didn’t’ spent time on reviewing documents. Now for re-applying I wanted to make sure I enter correct information under ‘Present Work/ Education/ Training’. Earlier I did enter below information on DS-160 under ‘Present Work/ Education/ Training’. I request your advice if need to add or modify anything here so that we can hope something in next attempt. And that’s the reason I wanted to know the difference between HOMEMAKER, NOT EMPLOYED and OTHER.

For Father:
Primary Occupation: Other
Specify other: Retired but working part time job.
Present employer or school name: Indian Art photo studio

Monthly salary: Rs. 4,500

For Mother:
Primary Occupation: Homemaker
