My question was can I book a visitor visa appointment for my mom to visit the US and also my H4 visa appointment at the chennai consulate at the same slot....as a group..or is it possible for family group application only in the same visa category...??

My mom cannot manage the visa appoinment process all by herself.

You can take an appointment on her behalf but it will not be in the same slot as yours.
