Renewal of US Visa

Dear Sir/Madam,

My mother holds an US visa whose date of issue was 17.7.2001 and date of expiration is 16.7.2011.

I have gone through the instructions in the US non-immigrant visa section of the US consulate in Mumbai and found out that since she is above 80 years of age, she does not have to go for the personal interview in Mumbai.

Please let me know the answers to the following questions soon:

1. Since she is planning to travel to USA next summer, how soon should she apply for US visa?

2 Does she have to go for finger print collection to Mumbai OR it is waived aside because of her age?
