  • NZ Wrong Visa Application

I was supposed to apply for a NZeTA but instead I applied for a General-Visitors visa…my flight is in less than two weeks and I’m afraid the one I applied for will not be processed in time…can I have two applications open and also apply for a NZeTA? Does anyone have experience with this?

Yes, you can apply for an NZeTA while your visitor visa application is pending. The NZeTA is processed faster, usually within 72 hours. Apply soon to avoid delays.

You can apply for an NZeTA while your General Visitor Visa application is still in process. The NZeTA is typically approved much faster (often within a few hours to a couple of days), whereas a visitor visa can take longer.

If your nationality is eligible for an NZeTA and you meet the requirements, getting one would allow you to travel without waiting for the visitor visa decision. However, if Immigration New Zealand sees two applications from you, they may process only one, so it’s a good idea to contact them directly to clarify your situation.

If anyone here has been in a similar situation, their experience would be helpful!

You can apply for an NZeTA even if you already submitted a General Visitor Visa application. The NZeTA is usually processed much faster (often within 72 hours), so it's a good backup if you're eligible. Just make sure you meet the NZeTA requirements for your nationality. If you're unsure, you may want to contact Immigration New Zealand for clarification.

I don’t personally know of any businesses, but you might have luck checking with construction companies or trade unions in NJ. Maybe try networking on LinkedIn or reaching out to local contractors.

Apply for the NZeTA immediately. Do not wait for the outcome of your Visitor Visa application. The NZeTA is designed for short-notice travel and is your best chance of being able to board your flight.

If you’re from a visa waiver country and meet the requirements, definitely submit the NZeTA application as soon as possible. Many people have done this in similar situations when time was tight

You can request an NZeTA even while your General Visitor Visa application is still being processed. Since NZeTA approvals are usually quicker, it’s a convenient option but it’s best to double-check with Immigration New Zealand for the latest advice.
