Travel visa to the USA rejected due to Iraqi nationality

Hi My partner is an Iraqi born national who has been in the UK since 2002 and became a British citizen in 2009. She has never gone back to Iraq and was going to see family who live in Los Angeles. Her application for ESTA was rejected and we have done a DS-160 but the next available appointment isn’t until September and she was due to go out to California for her nieces graduation in a few weeks.

She didn't have a "visa" rejected. She was (correctly) denied an ESTA. People who are dual nationals of Cuba, Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Sudan, or Syria are not eligible for the Visa Waiver Program. She should have applied for a B2 visitor visa to begin with.
