  • Travel visa to the USA rejected due to Iraqi nationality

Hi My partner is an Iraqi born national who has been in the UK since 2002 and became a British citizen in 2009. She has never gone back to Iraq and was going to see family who live in Los Angeles. Her application for ESTA was rejected and we have done a DS-160 but the next available appointment isn’t until September and she was due to go out to https://omegle.onl/ vshare California for her nieces graduation in a few weeks.

    Hello,
It’s frustrating when visa delays disrupt important plans. Since the ESTA was rejected, applying for a U.S. visa through the DS-160 form was the right move. Given the long wait, you might try requesting an expedited appointment if the U.S. Embassy allows it. While family events don’t always qualify, it’s worth checking. Also, visa slots sometimes open up due to cancellations, so keep an eye on the appointment system.

From what I’ve seen, business visas usually get processed with higher priority than tourist visas, especially if there's a time-sensitive reason like meetings or conferences. But in cases involving certain nationalities, like Iraqi, the visa process can be stricter regardless of the visa type. It’s unfortunate, but additional security checks often cause delays or rejections. I’d suggest reaching out to the consulate directly or getting legal advice for a better understanding of your options.
