  • Singapore visa for transit?

Hi! I’m an Indian citizen, travelling to Bali from India with a layover in Singapore. The layover is 3.5 hours towards Bali and 9 hours on the return journey. I’m travelling with Singapore Airlines for both journeys and the PNR for all the flights are the same. Do I need a visa for Singapore if I do wish to exit the transit area? I’ve emailed the Singapore Embassy in India and the airline but neither have responded. Please help. 192.168.0.1 router login

Hi! Since you’re an Indian citizen with a layover in Singapore and traveling on a single PNR with Singapore Airlines, you don’t need a visa if you stay within the transit area at Changi Airport. However, if you plan to exit the airport during your 9-hour layover, you’ll need a Singapore visa, unless you qualify for the Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF). You can check the latest guidelines on ICA Singapore’s official site.
Also, during long layovers, if you enjoy brain games or word challenges to pass time, this 5 letter words finder & solver might be a fun companion to kill time while waiting for your next flight!
Hope this helps and have a great trip to Bali!

Hi! Since you're an Indian citizen and planning to exit the transit area during your layover in Singapore, you will likely need a transit visa or apply for the Singapore Visit Visa, even with a single PNR. However, some travelers may be eligible for the Visa-Free Transit Facility (VFTF) for up to 96 hours—check if you qualify based on your travel documents (like a valid visa from certain countries). Since the embassy hasn't replied, consider checking the official ICA Singapore website for up-to-date details. It's good you’re flying Singapore Airlines—they may also guide you at the airport. Safe travels!
