New Zealand Visa—Sponsored by an Australian, possible?

Hi, basically as the title says.

My boyfriend is an Australian citizen, I’m from South-east Asia and he will sponsor for our travel to New Zealand this November. He is not a NZ resident or have any ties related to NZ.

I’m filling the form online but I don’t see the option of being sponsored by someone other than NZ citizen or residence permit holder.

So, is it possible? and if so, where do I put the details? Is it in the Evidence of Funds section or add as an additional document in Other Evidence?

Yes, your boyfriend can provide financial support for your trip to New Zealand, but not as a “formal sponsor” like a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident. As your boyfriend is not a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, he cannot apply for formal sponsorship using the INZ 1025 form.
