Hello,
I applied for a B2 visa last week, but unfortunately, it was denied. Here’s how the interview went:
I presented my new passport, which doesn’t have any visas yet. The officer asked about the purpose of my visit, and I explained that I wanted to spend Christmas in New York because I enjoy celebrating the holiday abroad.
He then inquired if I would be traveling alone, to which I replied yes.
His last question was about my job. I mentioned that I’ve been in banking for the past 10 years and currently hold a senior management position.
After that, he continued typing on his computer without making eye contact. I mentioned that I had traveled abroad three times before and offered to show him my old passport. He responded, “Okay, give it to me.” After reviewing it, he said, “Sorry, I can’t issue you a visa today.”
I had no intention of overstaying or violating any visa conditions, so I’m really frustrated. The whole experience didn’t feel like a proper interview at all.
