  • Student visa after escalation

I applied for student visa on 29th September and after a month and half they put my case on escalation and said to wait 15 days and I did and when I called they were like to wait is this happening with anyone else and why is this happening, I never messed up anywhere criminally.

This delay, while highly frustrating, is being experienced by many student visa applicants, particularly after their case is escalated. The primary reasons for this common wait, even without criminal issues, often include: high volumes of applications (especially during peak seasons like the one following your September application), increased administrative scrutiny, and backlogs in the processing system. When a case is escalated, it usually means it's been flagged as "not straightforward", which often triggers more in-depth checks like security and verification, which can paradoxically add time instead of speeding things up, regardless of a clean record. Unfortunately, once a case is in this queue, the only practical action is to continue monitoring your email and patiently wait for the new decision timeline to pass.
