If a student has 53 in PTE, and the other student has a high score like 70, does the student with the higher score have a higher chance of getting accepted for the student visa? I heard a high score in PTE may appeal more to officers because they may use this to justify that you are a "Genuine Student" because a high-scoring student is statistically less likely to drop out or violate visa conditions to work illegally, Is this correct? router login 192.168.l.l.link/

While a higher PTE score can slightly improve your profile, it is not a direct guarantee of visa approval, as both 53 and 70 exceed the Department of Home Affairs' minimum requirement (currently 47 for direct entry). Visa officers primarily use high scores as one of many indicators in the Genuine Student (GS) assessment to verify that you have the academic capability to succeed in your specific course Official Website
However, a score of 70 is often viewed more favorably because it reduces the "academic risk" and demonstrates a high level of preparedness, whereas a lower score near the threshold might lead to closer scrutiny of your overall study plan and intentions.Last edited by norman89till; 01-23-2026, 12:19 AM.
