Hello! I'm writing to explain my situation because I'm living a nightmare. On January 12th, I applied for my ESTA. On January 15th, 72 hours had passed, so I contacted CBP by phone and they escalated my case to a ticket. I received two emails, one of which stated it would take 5-10 business days. They keep telling me I have to wait, but I have a medical emergency and I don't see any progress. I'm from Spain and have never traveled outside my country, so I don't understand this delay.
