  • Tunisian in Germany asking for a visitor Visa ! Help !

    Hello ,
I am a Tunisian student learning German in Germany since 6 months , I have a 2 years Visa .
Well , I want to go the US for a short trip of 10 days . I went to a German travel agency and I had some papers showing that I have already booked for a flight and a hotel ( I didn“t pay yet ) .
What else ? What should I show to the officer in the consulate ?
I also have a bank account with Deutsche Bank , should I go to my bank and ask them to give me a paper showing I have a bank account ?!
Well , I also have a health enssurance , I can have a paper showing it , and also showing that they get monthly and directly from my bank account 50 Euros ( 60 Dollars ) .
Another think , I also can show them the contrat of my room rent , and that I pay monthly 175 Euros for the rent .
Right now I have a break , it“s like a holiday , I finished the first session of my german studies , and I have a certificate prouving that I have successfully completed this session . I can also show them that I have paid in advance 300 Euros for the next session .
I don“t know if showing them some papers from an American oil company where my father works in Kazakhstan as a Manager will help .
There is also another document I can show , I can ask the Tunsian consulate in Hamburg to provide me with such a paper showing that I will be back to Germany to continue my studies , will this help ??!!
I can also show some photos with my friends here in Germany .
Do I need to show them how much money I have in my bank account ??
And What about the fees ( 100 Dollars ) in Euros ??
I will call today a special operator service of the US consulate to set an appointment as it is the only method here in Germany .
What do you think ??!! Will it be easier to ask for a visitor Visa from Germany or from Tunisia ?
And what do you think of the documents and papers I can show to the officer ??!! Do you think they are enough ?? If they aren“t , then what is missing ??!!
Your answers , advice and help will really be apreciated .
    Thank you very much

If you are a student in Germany but originally from Tunisia, US consulate in Germany will ask you to apply in Tunisia.

umm .. I checked now in the official website of the US Embassy in Germany and here what is written :

        - APPLYING FOR A VISITOR VISA

Applicants for visitor visas should generally apply at the American Embassy or Consulate with jurisdiction over their place of permanent residence. Although visa applicants may apply at any U.S. consular office abroad, it may be more difficult to qualify for the visa outside the country of permanent residence.

        - Where should I apply for my visa?

Applicants are advised that they will have the best chance of qualifying for a visa if they apply in the country where they normally reside, since documenting sufficiently strong family, social, and economic ties to their country of residence might prove to be extremely difficult while abroad.
Applicants who reside in Germany have to apply at the appropriate Consular Section in Frankfurt or Berlin.

I am a resident in Germany , so don“t you think it is possible to apply from here ?
        Please advise .
        Thank you very much .

Read it carefully again. It says "permanent residence". If you are student in Germany, Germany is not your permanent residence currently. (even though you may eventually be able to get a job, get permanent residence and just stay there forever).

I have seen may students in UK, Germany etc. who applied for US visa got rejected and they were asked to apply from home country.
