  • b1,2 visa for gf

Hi, I am a permanent resident of US residing in India and i am currently in the process of completing my medical studies. My girlfriend is scheduled to do an observership in a hospital in MN from April 4 - April 29, 2011. Now she is planning to apply for B-1/2 visa for the same. She is 22 n me 24 yrs. She doesnt know how the approach the visa interview. I have a few specific questions -
    1. She has a letter from the Hospital in MN stating that she is scheduled to do an observership from April 4 - April 29. In the letter they have made a mistake of mentioning her as "he is scheduled for an observerhsip". Is that going to cause any problems with the embassy. Should i request them to send a new letter. Also, is the letter a good enough document to get her a visa.
    2. Also after her observership i would like her to go to my sisters house for a week. Now in the interview should she mention that she has a bf who is a green card holder and that she wishes to visit my sister along with me.

    Thanks.

-Get a new letter from hospital if that's possible. You'll not want her to face any issues coz of this small mistake.

Apart from the hospital letter, ask her to carry her educational cert & other documents. VO may ask for such things although chances are less. Most important, ask her to be confident while talking to VO. She has to be ready with simple straight answers.

    - No need to mention all these things. No one cares where you are visiting for a week. Mentioning such things will unnecessarily affect her visa interview outcome. Ask her to stick to her observership plan response.

    Thanks.[/QUOTE]
