  • Visitor Visa - in laws

    Hi,

I have a couple of questions regarding visitor visa for my in laws. I have been in U.S. since 7 years. Out of which a couple of years on F1 visa and then H1B visa. I currently hold H1B visa. I got married in Dec. 2008. My wife came here on H4 visa and she transferred her visa to H1B visa in Jan. 2010. Currently she also holds a valid H1B visa.

We are planning to invite her parents to U.S. for tourism and family visit. My question is

    1) Do I need to fill out the I-134 form or Does my wife needs to fill out the form or should we both need to fill out the form saying we are going to partially support them? Please advise.

My father in law does have a valid U.S. visitor visa as he has been in U.S. to attend some seminar. My mother in law is housewife and she does not have visa. My question is

    2) Do I or does my wife need to fill out I-134 form just for my mother in law or Do I/my wife need to fill out I-134 for details of my father and mother in laws?

    3) I believe even if only my mother in law will go for visa, I still need to mention name of my father in law and mother in law in my invitation letter and request letter to consulate. Please correct me if I am wrong.

    Thank you,

Whoever wants to sponsor the visitor needs to fill out I-134 for each person who will apply and also send supporting documents.

If father-in-law is not applying, no need to send I-134 for him.

Send an invitation letter to both of them.
