  • Visa for Hearing Impaired Sister

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am a US Permanent Resident Alien, and I had received my Green Card in 2001. Both myself and my wife work for a reputed firm in US, and make $200K p.a. I have a concern though, as my sister is hearing impaired since she was 3 years old and now she is 24 years old, and my parents are old. I need to take care of her, and it has been very difficult to communicate with her. I am wanting to get her to US and stay with us and I take care of her.

    A) What is the best way I could do this?

    B) Is it better to go by immigrant or non-immigrant visa?

    C) Is there any special quota or arrangment for such medical related and personal reasons?

Looking forward to hear from you,
    Regards,
    Sadiq

You have to wait until you are US citizen. Then you file for her greencard which will take around 13 years before she can get greencard.

There is no special quota for hearing impaired people or people with other disabilities.

It would be very difficult for her to get visitors visa unless she is well settled in India and can prove strong ties to India.
