Hi,
My mom's visitor visa was rejected recently under section 214-b. She was asked only 1 question: Why do you want to go to the US? She said said: My daughter is in the US and I want to go and visit her for 2 months; and also do tourism while I am there. Without any reason she was told that her visa is rejected; and was given the 214-b form. She has no intention of staying in the US. She had all my property, investements and money worth more than 1 crore rupees in India; plus all herfamily (my son, my daughter-in-law, my grand-daughter, my daughter who I need to get married in India, my mother, my brothers, my sisters are all in India – and I will come back). She had carried all my investment documents with me – but the officer did not look at any documents.
So we want to apply again. I understand that the normal procedure for applying again is to get another appointment; which we will do. However, since last time the officer did not look at any documents during the interview – we want to submit some of these documents when we apply for my visa (along with the application form). Can we submit – the investment documents, my bank statements plus sponsorship letters from the US along with the application form itself; OR do they not accept these at the time of giving the application form?
Please let me know.
Thanks
