Visitor Visa Rejection

Hi,
My mother's visa(b1) was rejected for no apparent reason. My father wont be coming due to health reasons. The officer asked why she she going to US, leaving behind husband who is not well. She said that though he is not well(kidney prob) he is fit to be on his own. She has a next visa interview scheduled what should she be telling if asked about it again. Also the officer didnot ask for any documents showing her property in india what should she do the next time. What if she is not comfortable with the interpretor. All her documents were proper. PLEASE ADVICE. ITS URGENT. HER NEXT INTERVIEW IS VERY SOON.!!!

Sometimes, it is difficult to judge why they deny the visa.

There is nothing much to advise in this. All I can say is better luck next time.

I do not know how you mother responded to the question on leaving your father behind. But I think you mother really needs to show some convincing reason why she is wanting to travel alone leaving behind her sick husband. And I don't think anybody can suggest an answer to you here. You really need to work it out between you and your parents.

Thanks.What should she reply. Is it ok to say that my husband is not allowed to travel such long distance and moreover he is fit enough to be on his own. Apart from that all my uncles and aunts are our neighbors. so it is absolutely not a prob. We also have servents at home. Also I have my granny to look after. She cant be left alone. What should be her precise answer. Please let me know.

Note that the reason why visas was rejected in the first case has been recorded, hence changing the reply and hence getting a favorable reply
is not guaranteed. For all you know you could say the same reason and still
get the visa.

So let's be practical (again!)

Are all your papers in order ?

Do you have an invitation letter ? What's in the invitation letter ?

When was the last time you visited India ?

Any siblings in India ?

Let's assume that nothing adverse has been recorded i,e health etc.
Even if it has then we have situation not changed issue when you apply again, but that should not matter.

I think we should say, I am going to alone, husband has business and is not willing to travel long duration flights etc - try to blame it on something like that, not the nature of health issues etc. Maybe you can say some friends of my son are travelling to usa, and I was going to go with them etc.

I have just given you a broad answer, we can work this better and clearer, what's your timeframe like

but I cannot assume things. I think in my mail(as to what she should be saying) I have not deviated from what my mom said in the first interview. My father is not all that sick. he is just fine, but the doctor has asked not to travel such long distance. thats it and we have loads of relatives around.
