  • Vistor Visa Rejected

    Hi ,
Both My Mom and dad had gone for Visitor Visa Appointment in April.
I had sent them the supporting documents. My Brother is also working in the US.
The Officer asked him a few Questions:
How many Children do you have?
    My dad replied : 2
He asked the details of my brother and my parents gave the true details.

The officer asked my Parents if they had any children in India and my dad replied no.
The officer stated that under these conditions the visa cannot be issued.

My Parents had a lot of property in India and also My dad had a dependent Mother in India. My Dad is a govt employee and wanted to return back to Work within a short period of time. But there was no scope to explain all these facts during the interview.

We just want our parents to visit the US once and experience a visit to a foreign country and travel some wonderful places in the US.

How can we convince the consulate officer with the fact?
Is there any advisible time period before we apply for the visa again?
Please suggest some tips that could get us successfully through the interview.

    Thanks,

But I was thinking that the interview questions and the answers provided are recorded by the consular officer. We are planning to go carefully for our next appointment. Is it going to help if my mom and dad go for two different interviews at the consulate !!
        Please advise.

        Thanks,
        Bhavani

          Tell the truth!

          Bhavani,

Its always BEST to tell the truth.

My brother is a software engineer working in Bangalore for a big IT company and when my mom had been to chennai consulate last week, the officer asked her when my brother was going to the US?!! My mom said that she DOESNT KNOW and that was the truth. She could have told that he will NOT go but she struck with the truth (I was surprised too!) and was granted 10 yrs multiple entry visa.

What ever your parents replied in the earlier interview would be recorded by the officer hence it would be better/safe to tell the same things.

I know many people lie at the consulate but it would be difficult to maitain those lies and risk is high.

          GL!

Always tell truth. They have many ways to find out the truth, and if caught, it could be permanent ban on visa.
