  • Submission of docs during visa interview

My parents will be appearing for their visitor's visa interview at Delhi. They plan to submit the following listed documents straight away.
    • DS-156 - for both of them
    • DS-157 - for both of them
    • Passport - for both of them
    • Bank drafts as per the listed requirements
    • I-134 (affidavit of support).
    • Proof of my (sponsor') employment & salary (provided on my company's letterhead).
    • Letter from me (sponsor) addressed to US embassy.
    • Copy of my (sponsor) passport.
They plan to show the remainder supporting documents as needed and/or asked for. They have the following questions:
    1. Is the list above correct? (I think I read in some reply from immihelp in some other post that one should submit only the required docs, and rest supporting ones as needed). My parents are not sure whether so many voluminous docs should be submitted & whether it may be counter productive.
    2. What exactly is the stage at which the documents above should be handed over, and where. Will they be specifically be called for and be asked to submit their docs.
    Please advise.

    hi

your parents will need to carry all documents with them as specified on immihelp.com
it is mandatory they have all reqd docs. also they should carry docs like their job details, properties in india etc etc

Thanks Srikar. The list of docs which I mentioned is already based on the reqd docs. What I am interested in - based on experience of other's - if this list needs to be reduced/added. Rest of the docs as mentioned by you, they will be carrying with them, and will be submitting one ore more of them as needed.

      Immihelp, any advise?

There are no useless documents mentioned on our website.

You should carry as many documents as possible. In case you need to show something, and if you don't have it, you have to go back. In case you take the document and it is not asked for, there is no harm caused.

they will ask for whatever docs they need. you cant rely on anyones experience as everyone has different experience.
so there is no pattern in which they will ask docs

              Clarification on q. 2

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear here. What I meant to ask was that for any of the docs (irrespective of if it's required or supporting), at what stage do they submit the docs. It could be like:

              a. You submit the TTS DD at outside gate.
              b. Then you submit the required docs at X counter.
              c. Then you are called for interview at Y counter where you submit any supporting documents as needed.

(Am not aware of procedure followed in India since I never got my own visa from India)

                  I agree with srikar.

TTS counter people take minimum required documents. Rest to be carried in person and show to the officer as and when appropriate.
