Visitor Visa at Mumbai- Birth Certificate question

Hello,
As mentioned in this site, one of the documents required to be sent by the sponsor of the visitor is the birth certificate of the sponsor, in original!
I do not have a birth certificate; however I do have a NON-AVAILABILTY certificate from the muncipality in India where I was born, two affidavits from my close relatives who wre present when I was born. I used these documents to get my green card. Can I send these documents instead?

If these docs were accepted for a GC, then surely they should get accepted by the consulate!
