B2 Visitor Visa Stamping

My Current H1B is until 2013. Due to change in my job title/location, amendment has been filed recently. Yet to get H1B approval on the latest H1B amendment filing. Currently my lawyer has Original H1B receipt (of H1B Amendment).

I'm planning to take visitor's visa appointment for my parents.

Can I send them my current I797 (that expires 2013) or do I have to send original H1B receipt (of latest H1B amendment)?

Please also let me know if US Consulate needs original H1B receipt or if copy of H1B receipt is fine.
