Question on visitor visa

I will be applying for visitor visa for my parents & all the documents will be from my husband as I'm on H4, & I'm not working. So, I want to know:

1)whether the invitation letter should be from my husband's side or can I send the Invitation letter as I did not see any sample letter of invitation for in-laws & in that case it will be very nice if immihelp can post a sample invitation letter for in-laws.

2) We have got the extension of visa H1 & H4, I-797 till 2007, but the same is not stamped on the passport as we did not come to India after I-797 & our (me & my husband's) passports show the previous stamping which is already expired. Is this a problem for applying for visa for my parents.

Please help me in this matter.

1. Use same letter. Instead of parents, write in-laws.
