B2 to H4

My wife has valid B2 for 10years, and she came to the US on B2 visa, and now, and we applied for H4, got H4 approved till my H1b validity period.

Since she got H4 approved. If she travels abroad , is it a must for her to go for visa stamping again?

I presume visa is only to enter and exit the country, and to stay in the country status determines?

She can stay in US on H4 visa. However, in order to enter again after she leaves the US, she will need H4 visa stamp.
