Widowed mother Visitor visa rejected. Please help

        Hi,

My mother appeared for a visitor visa at Hyderabad consulate on 28th October 2011 anad has been rejected the visa. I'm the only daughter and I'm on a H-4 visa. However my mother is the primary caretaker of her mother. She supports my grandmother with all her medical needs. My grand mother has undergone a double knee replacement surgery recently. She took along with her all the financial documents.

The visa officer emphasised on one point:
How do i know you'll come back?
My mother answered "Sir, I have the responsibility to take care of my mother, so i would definitely come back. Moreover I'm only going there because i miss my daughter and i want too see her".

The visa officer just said "Sorry I can't issue the visa."

As per her experience most of the single parents are being denied of a visa. This is very unfortunate and unacceptable. Being widowed is her fate and she cannot change it. Is there a way out of this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

back in 2000 my dad and mom wanted to visit their ill daugther living in the usa.

they both were granted 5 year visitor visa.

however my mom died in march 2005 .

in 2009, my dad wanted to visit usa again but his application was denied because he was a widower.

since your mom is a widow i beleive that's why she was declined visa.

my elder brother consulted a lawyer in the usa and he told him that it was written in the american law they dont issue visitor visas to widow or widower.

          tough luck!

how did visa officer know if your mom was a widow? did she write "late" next to her husband name on the form? or did the visa officer ask her directly? the only way out was to hide the martial status of your dad since we are no immigrant experts so normally we go with the truth. sometimes it works and sometimes it does not work.
