  • Widow Mother In Law B2 Visitor Visa Rejected ...Please need help.

My mother in law, whose is a widow went for a B2 Visitor Visa on November 14, 2011 at Hyderabad Consulate and got rejected under section 214b. They asked the following questions and she responded to all questions but took time while answering second question since she couldn’t get the VO language even though VO asked in Telugu.

    1. Who is there is USA
    A: Daughter and Son-in Law

    2. What are they doing in USA?
    A: **** **** *

    3. Where do they stay in USA?
    A **** **** *

    4. How many children are you have?
A: 2 Daughters (One elder daughter in USA and second one younger in India)

    5. What is your Husband doing?
    A: He is no more

That’s it...VO did not ask any documents and told sorry and unable to issue visa at this time and handed over the passport with 214b form.

Now I'm planning to reapply again second time in Jan 1st or 2nd week. I would like to know

    1) What would be the reason for rejection? If VO thought that she won’t return back because she is a widow . Is there anything that can be done to convince VO next time?

    2) What need to be changed in order to re-apply for visitor visa after rejection and what are the chances of getting visa?

    3) Will there be any improve in chance of getting visa if I go through the attorney?

    Appreciate your response

    Thanks
    Ran

    1. Yes since she is widow they think that she will stay back. If you see this forum you can see many visa rejection due to this.
    2. Nothing need to change but carry all proofs (property, deposits in bank, tax documents, pension doc etc if she has) to show that she will come back if incase they ask (no Guarantee that they will ask but in case if they ask). If younger one is not married then she can tell that i have a depended daughter who is not married when asking about other kids..
    3. No, Attorney or agents can help in filling the forms and tell about the documents documents (which u can find out in this website) but getting visa in this case is pure luck.

Try one more time and this time it may work.
