Help with Appointment(only 1 parent is going for visa, appt taken for both)

I took an appointment for my parents. But now, only my dad will be going for visa interview. Can I keep the same appointment, or do I have to cancel it and take an appointment again only for my dad? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks a lot in advance.

I think only dad can go.

Actually, it may be good idea that both go and get visa. It's OK for mom not to travel now. If they get 10 year visa, your mom will not have to go again in future.

Thanks immihelp for your advice. But it might not be possible for my mom to go due to some personal reasons. And you meant I needn't take an other appointment again, right? Can you please clarify this?

And if anyone has gone through similar situation, please help. Because I dont want my father to get in a situation where the officer says, 'why didn't your wife come, we cant take the interview' or something like that. I can take an appt again, but I am worried I will not get an early appt. Please help.

It is OK for father to go alone.

Consular officer can say anthing he/she wants and do whatever he/she feels like doing. There are no guarantees.
