My mom got a 10 year multiple visa. Just want to share the experience.
I provided all the documents mentioned in this site. THANKS. The Chennai American consulate website was also very helpful.
From her part, she just provided the letter from the bank (with some balance
) and the letter from me. She did not provide any other property/wealth documents.
She used an interpreter. Some questions by the interviewer (my mom's version)
1. Why do you want to travel now?
2. Why are you going to USA and not concentrating on getting your daughter married(arranged)!!???
3. Why are you not taking your husband with you?
4. What is the name of the company where your son works?
5. What is his residential address in USA?
My mom said she was initially little tense but she started smiling a lot after question 2 and they too started smiling/laughing all the way through the interview. Smile sometimes helps I guess.
