Hi Guys,
My mothers visa was denied last week at the chennai consulate. Here is my case:
1. My mom is a widow.
2. Working in a central govt. organisation.
3. Two sons, including myself, both in the US
4. She had visited the US earlier in 99.
We had documentation for work, property to so ties in india. The visa denied potentially on points 1&3. No documentation looked into. Looking for ideas of how to go about convincing that she has no intention to immigrate.
The thought of lying that one of her sons is in india crossed my mind. But given points 2, 3 and enough property, I thought it was not necessary. I am currently looking for appointment which dont seem available until end of sept. I told her explicitly not to mention about her plans to visit her new born grand-son.
The next time around, will they have the information about why it was denied last time? How risky is it to change facts that were told last time.
best wishes,
- Ravi.
