Need info on the misspelt name

Hi ,

I am planning to apply for my parents visa. I have misspelt my mom
s name in my passport and Birth certificate. Her passport has one letter different from what I have put. Instead of "w" I have put "v" . I want to know what I need to do now to prove the relationship. Is a self affadavit enough or I have to go through notarary or someother channel. Please let me know.
