  • Marriage certificate for Parents?

    Hi,

My parents don't have the marriage certificate when they got married. They have the marriage invitation card and the photographs. My dad is staying its difficult to get the marriage certificate after 30 years, since they dont have one before.

Please let me know if this is a necessary document to carry for the visa interview? or any other proof of docments that we can show since we can't get marriage certificate?

    any responses are greatly appreciated
    thanks

Thank you so much.so marriage cert is not needed as proof.
Also do I need to send 2 copies of tax returns, employment letter, bank statement, affidavit I-134 etc., for my parents?
or just 1 copy of the original documents will do?
      thanks much

Received RFE to provide Marriage Certificate for my Mom's GC

I have applied Family Based GC for my Mother... Received RFE to provide marriage certificate ...

They have married 60 years ago and marriage was not registered. My father is deceased now...

I am not able to get a 'no record' of the marriage certificate from the authorities... I am trying to create an affidavit and have my uncles/aunt sign it stating they were a witness of the marriage...

            Is there another alternative?

            Thanks.
