  • Leave and Notorized photocopy

    Hello,

When we send photocopies of all the documents (eg. passport, I 797 etc.), do we have to get all of them notorized or just plain photocopies are fine?

My Father-in-law is applying for leave at his College. He is Professor of Pharmacology in Medical College. He is asking for 3 months leave. Is that too long? Can they say during interview that how come you are granted 3 months leave? That is too long. Is there any specific duration of leave (that American Embassy likes)?

    Please advise.

    Thanks

    Photocopies will suffice.

It is not the duration of leave that matters. 3 months is okay. Your FIL should show strong ties to his home country to covince that his visit to the USA is JUST a visit.
