I have same question as t shivam whether to put the control number or the
I-797 receipt number, b'coz as per immihelp documents from sponsor section says that we need to put visa control number & as per your answer to t shivam's query you have asked to put receipt #.
so please reply what number needs to be filled in or whether we can put both the numbers

If you put H1B that will give the consul officer an indication of your legal status in the USA. You should be attaching a copy of your I-797 H1B status approval notice along with a copy of your passport anyway. If you use the I-797 number make sure you spell it out as receipt number, and if you use the visa control number state so... The key for the officer to know is that you are on a H1B status and if needed how to verify that status (either the control number or the I-797 receipt number).

do put the receipt number of which appears in I-797 coz that's the only way they can track ur status. on visa u have control number to track ur status but after ur visa expires on pp the I-797 is that u have approval of extension so that can prove ur extention status as well it can be used as a control number. all the best to u

Is there a way to check on Russian Doctor Student?

She emailed me a copy of her Visa said it is approved and a group of Doctors will leave St. Petersburg June 10 but she is short $750 because US doesn't allow foreigners to arrive with no money in Pocket. Is this true? Thanks
Its making sence but kinda funny she's working as student doctor but the program is out of funds to help their students and needs CASH to enter USA

Where we should put the I-797 receipt number/ visa control number on I-134?

Should it be after we write our status ( H1-B) on I-134 1st question
