Father and mother require interpretor-please advice

I intend to get my parents to visit USA for 3 months on visitors visa.

Father has difficulty in speech due to tongue operation(cancer).
Although he can understand and speak english .Now his speech is not clear due to operation.He is in good health now.

Mother cannot understand and speak english.

so how should they go about the visa interview?

do I need to furnish a letter to the consulate officer stating fathers condition of speech ?
How do they handle this at interview as well as port of entry?

Hi,

While scheduling the interview appointment, you have an option to select the language you want the interview.Basically there is translator facility available.So you can select your mother native language and they provide the translator.
