  • Visitor Visa B2 Rejected First Time @ Delhi Consulate

Hi....I applied for USA visitor visa B2 as my cousin is getting married on 11th august 2012. A group of 11 people consisting of my mother , my brother, my grandparents and my uncle and his family will accompany me.
My interview was on 5th july 2012 at delhi consulate. I was refused US visa because at that time, I did not have an occupation and my status was unemployed( I was waitlisted for admission in college). I completed my B.tech in 2011 and for the past 1 year, I have been preparing for various entrance exams. The vo refused my application on 214b ground, but when i was leaving the counter, vo told me that if I wanted to re-apply , I should re-apply after taking admission. Now results are out, and I have taken admission in college i.e (post graduate diploma). Now the question is should I re-apply now? I have never been to the US whereas all my family members have visited US before and all of them have Visa. I just want to go there to attend my Cousin's wedding and the duration of stay will be around 2-3 weeks. I just want your advice. Whether i should re-apply or not, as i don't want to waste my money.

What reason i should mention on why my visa was rejected last time?

I have the itinerary of all the family members (return tickets also) but not mine as i don't have a visa right now.
forgot to mention my father wont be going with us as he has to attend his nephew's marriage around the same time and my cousin is a US citizen and his father( my mama is sponsoring the whole trip.

    Please Guide Me.

    Thank You

According to the visa officer's suggestion, you should apply after getting the admission. Now that you have got the admission, you shoud apply.

You should give the truthful reason for previous rejection: 214B.

To increase your chances of getting the visa you must also carry a approved leave letter from the college/university.
VO will surely ask you a question about your college admission details and leave sanction letter.
      Best of luck

Sir i won't be able to take leave letter from the college as my session will start from 5th of august and I'll be going for the interview on 22nd of july, my stay in US will be for a week from 5th to 13th of august, i have my fee payment copy, please suggest whether i should mention 5th of august as my session start or shall i say that my session will start from 10th august, the problem is that if I'll say that my session will start from 5th I'll miss around 5 classes that is not alot. But do you think that it can create problem.

please reply as soon as possible.
