  • B2 Visa Rejected a Year ago , Now want to Apply for B1 :- Help Needed, Thanks

    Hi everyone,
First let me thank you all for running the greatest community and such a helpful site.
I have applied for a B2 Visa a year at Mumbai and a month ago. I am 22 year old Indian guy. I was going to visit my gf whom i met online. My Guarantor was US Origin person with all the needed documents like affidavit of support bank documents , return tickets etc. ( last year too I refered IMMIHELP ).
Well I was honest and told the Visa Officer why am I going to USA. And My Visa was rejected because i couldnt convince i will be back. But Honesty doesnt counts now a days i think. I followed every single tip from IMMI such as well dressing and greeting the officer etc.But ultimately its a luck thing.
Now I've appeared for the final yr. exam of my engg and my results arent out yet.Now I've got an invitation from a reputed USA company for getting training there in USA.I've never worked for any company before ...since i just finished my exams...And they want me to come there soon.So I want to apply now for a B1 Visa. ...So I would like to know what shall I tell the Visa Officer if they ask me why did I got redused last time ? Also..Last time I got an online appointment but now since I need Visa soon ..probably in a fortnight.. I cant go for online appointments since they are already booked till October end.
So I would also like to know the procedure of taking appointment in person and Documents needed before and after appointment. Also can anyone help me about the shortest timespan all this will take?
Also My employer is going to email me the invitation letter and i have to take the printouts of it. But then i Wonder it wont be notarized ? so will it be valid ?
Also I will be really glad if someone tells me things I should do from Zero to Final stage. I know I am asking too much here. But I hope someone has the time to help me and I already know how nice the site community is here

Also one last thing...Are there Good chances for me to get the VISA?

It was not your luck , it was simple logic why you did not get the visa last year. Young , single guys are the most suspect to stay back in US when applying for a visitor visa. Going to meet your gf adds all the more reason to
that presumption. And anyone suspect of staying back will not
    get a visitor visa.

Your situation is different this year, but it still depends on your
app. You can tell the consular why you were refused last year
but this year it is entirely different. Are you going for an interview ?
Since B1 is not a training visa. Take all your college certificates.
and the company letters.I think email copies are accepted.
Most importantly you will have to overcome the immigrant intent which you were suspect of last time.
    Show all your wealth here and ties to your home country;
business, property. Tell them you will come back.
And no shortcuts for the appointment.

There is another option; Why don't you tell your company
that the wait for B1 is too long. Could they not interview you
on the phone and then sponsor you for a work visa which is
more straightforward to get than B-1; just a suggestion.

      Dear skk538,
Thank you so much for the post and helping out so much.
Yes now i understand why was I denied visa last time.
I have asked my Employer and he said he can not get me a H1B Visa.
But he also said that he can help me getting a H-3 Visa. Do you think it will be better with H-3 Visa?
Also if any reader's of my post who has NOT applied for an Online Visa appointment, can you help me about how long will the wait will be between application and Visa Appointment?
thank you so much again everyone for your time to read my post and helping me. and thank you skk538 for the fast reply

        You are very welcome.

H-1b is better in the sense that even if you have immigrant intent,
the visa will be issued to you provided everything else is ok.

Like B1/B2, H-3 again requires you to prove non-immigrant intent (that you will come back), which may be hard for you.

        good luck.

Thank you so much for your fast reply skk538.
Yes I understand H1B will be better
But unfortunately my employer can not arrange the H1B visa for me.
After so much of discussion and search i have found that B-1 will be the best visa i can apply according to my circumstances. I told them about your advice and they too agree but they cant arrange me an H1B visa Thank you so much for all the help and your time.
Also one main thing i am searching everywhere is the difference between online and offline appointment with respect to wait time.
Online appointment in unavailable till October 19, 2005.
and i have been already denied visa last year so i cant apply to Delhi centre of US Consulate for a quickk VISA.
So I wonder whether the wait time for an appointment if applied personally in Mumbai cnetre of US Consulate office will be any less than that of online application?
I live far away from Mumbai so if someone can help...it'll be much appreciated. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your time and for reading my post.
This forum is the best of its kind.
