Need visitor visa to USA for my mother.

Hi Friends,
Please help me in getting the following information.

My father expired recently 15days back and i want to bring my mother to USA for some time in visitor visa. I want to know the process and set of steps to apply for the same. Currently my mother is moved to singapore with my brother on visitor visa to singapore.

Can anyone help me to understand.
1.How to apply visitor visa to USA?
2.What are the necessary documents required?
3.Do we need to apply visitor visa to usa from India only or Is it possible to apply visitor visa to USA from singapore as well?
4.My mother passport validity is till september 2015? Do we need to apply for fresh passport and then apply for visitor visa to get max period or can we apply with existing passport? If so how long the visitor visa will be valid if we apply with existing validity passport?

She will be required to apply in India .
As one should apply where one has residence not where one is a visitor.

But the reality is chances for her are slim.
Especially when she is recently widowed and two of her children are
abroad. That makes the officer think she will not come back to India.

But no harm in applying once, she may get lucky.

About the passport; they can issue a long term visa on the current one but then she will have to carry two passports when this one expires.
So it is better she gets a new passport after september 2014( one can renew a passport up to one year before expiry).
and then applies for the visa. If she has good savings, she can show self funding of the trip.
That will increase her chances. If not, then you will have to send financial support documents along with an I-134, bank statements, pay stub, copy of your visa.
I would suggest she wait till next year as she is recently widowed .

Do we need to show that she is widow? Because i want her to bring with me for moral support for few days.

Absolutely.
You cannot lie about that. They will definitely ask her about her husband why he is not going.
Plus she will have to declare her marital status in the form.
