  • Visitor visa approved for in laws.

    Hi,

I would like to thank immihelp for the information provided to sponso visitor visa for parents. I was successful in getting the visa approved for my parents last year and for my in laws this year.
My in laws are both retired and my husband and all of his siblings are in US on H1B visa. So, the chances of them getting a visa successfully were a little weak.
On the visa interview day, my in laws reached the embassy, an hour earlier than their scheduled interview. Since, my FIL is a bit old, the people at the embassy were very helpful and they didn't had to wait at all for their interview. They were immediately taken to the main hall, where the interviews are conducted. Here's their interview experience:

    MIL: Good Morning!
    VO: Good Morning!
VO: How many children do you have?
    MIL: Two.
    VO: Where do they live?
MIL: Told the city and the state name.
VO: Where does your son work?
MIL: He works at xyz company.
    VO: What does he do?
MIL: He is a software engineer.
VO: what does you other children do?
MIL: They are also Software enginner.
VO: What does your DIL do?
MIL: She is a software engineer.
VO: Everyone is a Software engineer? (smiled).
VO: Have you ever been to US before?
    MIL: No.
VO: Why do you want to go to US?
MIL: To meet our children and visit some places in US.
VO: Congratulations! Your visa has been approved.
(No questions were asked to my FIL.)

This might help a lot of people who, and their siblings have been working in US for a while on H1B and have retired parents in India.
The key is to prepare your parents well for the interview and boost their confidence so that they don't get nervous.
    All the best to everyone!

    Thanks
