  • Applying extension more than once for my mother

Hello , I have applied visitor visa extension for my mother in 2015 , got it approved . She went back home and came here after 6 months in last November. This time she was given 3 months on her I-94 and now I am planning to apply for extension of 2 more months . Has anyone applied extension for parents more than once? your advice is appreciated . I am also in the process of acquiring citizenship , should be able to sponsor Green card for my mother in next 6 months. Please share your thoughts.

Another extension unlikely to be approved.
The US govt already believes she's spending too much time in the US on a B2, and thus cut her authorized stay in half.

If she is going to stay and apply for a green card anyway, she should not be applying for extension of status. To apply for extension of status, she would have to describe her plans to leave on time, which would be a lie if she is planning to stay. She should just stay and not leave the US and apply for a green card when you become a citizen.

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

Thank you newacct , My citizenship could take 6 more months so I can't have her 6 more months. So I am looking to extend her stay for 2 months and send her back before new I-94 expires , then I can bring here back next year after applying GC. Would it make sense?

Like I said, she should just stay. It doesn't matter how many months it takes, as long as she's willing to stay that long and not leave the US.
