Extension of Visitor Visa Need Clarification

Hi

Currently my In-Laws are with me in Visitor Visa. Their visa period ends on Nov 21. I would like to extend their stay with us.

I heard that if the extension of visitor visa is denied, it automatically cancels the 10 year multiple entry visa

Is that true?
