Visitor visa overstay due to flight delayed

Hi,

My mother Inlaw has 10 years of visitors visa. She was visiting us second time. She was about to leave country one day before her I-94 date expiration. Due to heavy snow and bad weather, her flight is cancelled and she was given new ticket after one day of her I-94 expiration date.

But Airlines had taken I-94 one day before her expiration(The original date of her departure which is one day before her I-94 date expiration). Is she counted to be overstay or not?

Is this going to effect sponsor's stauts? DO i need to take any action in order to this problem.

Hi ,

As i said my MIL has already schedule to leave one day before her last day of I-94 date.

Airport have taken her I-94 and she already boarded onto plane but she have to come back from plane becuase of bad weather and flight cancelled.

Her I-94 date is 03/17

Her Actual Flight was 03/16

Her Reschedule flight is on 03/18

They have taken I-94 on 03/16 and she already went into plane but she have to come back after that.

I guess there should not be a problem since the I94 was deposited before its expiry.
She should save the boarding pass for the first flight to show it to the officer at reentry if there is a problem.

But it is advisable never to cut it this close in future.
Should leave at least 3-4 days before I94 expiry.
